We Love To Give is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to serving our community with compassion, dignity, and action. Our mission is to reduce food and housing insecurity by providing nutritious meals, groceries, clothing, hygiene essentials, educational resources, and supportive services to individuals and families in need throughout Philadelphia and beyond. We believe every person deserves to be treated with love, respect, and dignity. Through meaningful partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and community engagement, we create experiences that inspire hope, strengthen neighborhoods, and empower people to build brighter futures. We encourage loving others through experience, time, opportunity, guidance, inspiration, values, and encouragement.
The Give Center
Imagine a place where hope & help lives. A place where someone facing a difficult season can enjoy a hot meal, receive groceries, find clean clothing, take a shower, connect with housing and employment resources, attend life-skills classes, use a computer, and be treated with dignity and compassion—all under one roof. That's the vision for The Give Center. The Give Center will be more than just a building. It will be a place of hope, healing, opportunity, and community. It will serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and other hardships while bringing people together to create lasting change. But we can't build it alone. Every donation—big or small—brings us one step closer to opening the doors and changing lives throughout Philadelphia. Please help make this dream a reality by donating today:

It's A Blessing to Give Back |
|
We began our journey volunteering with various organizations that were already doing great work in our communities. We’re proud of those efforts, but we also felt called to expand by creating our own programs—unique initiatives designed to uplift people and make a deeper impact on homelessness and the economic challenges facing our city.
Even the smallest donation can create big change. Together, we can feed families, provide clothing, offer personal items, give shelter, support transportation, award educational scholarships, and assist those affected by fires or disasters. Your contributions make these efforts possible. Some donations may also go toward specific events such as holiday toy drives, back-to-school book bags and supplies, Thanksgiving turkey dinners, technology and educational devices, books for read-a-thons, or enrichment outings for both children and adults. Our mission is to bring people together for the common good—turning shared hopes and values into real action. Nonprofits like ours feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, and nurture people of every age, race, and background across the nation. We foster civic engagement, build leadership, spark economic growth, and strengthen the very fabric of our communities. And we do it every single day. |
Giving back is truly a blessing because it allows us to share what we have with others while uplifting those in need. At We Love To Give, we believe that every act of kindness—whether big or small—has the power to make a lasting impact. Each day, our organization works to bring hope, resources, and support to individuals and families in our community. From providing food and clothing to offering encouragement and compassion, we are committed to showing love through action. We don’t just wait for people to come to us—we go into the streets to find those who can’t find us, making sure no one is left behind. Most importantly, we see and treat them as people, never overlooking their dignity or humanity. By giving back, we not only help meet immediate needs but also build stronger connections, reminding people that they are valued and never alone.

They Are People Too!
|
|
Unhoused individuals are still people—human beings who deserve to be treated with the same respect, dignity, and compassion as anyone else. While their circumstances may be different, their need for safety, connection, and a sense of purpose remains the same. We understand that some individuals may be facing challenges such as mental health conditions, emotional struggles, or physical disabilities, and these situations require patience, care, and a delicate, thoughtful approach. But no matter the circumstance, every person has value, every person has a story, and every person deserves to be seen—not ignored or judged.
As part of our outreach, we respectfully ask permission to invite some individuals to share their story—or simply talk about what’s on their mind. We always ask if they are comfortable being recorded so others can hear their voice and possibly be inspired or helped by their experience. Some choose not to be interviewed, and we fully respect their decision. Others are open and even eager to share, and for those individuals, we offer a small token of appreciation for allowing us to use their likeness and share their stories on our social media and YouTube pages. Throughout every interaction, we lead with care, compassion, and understanding—ensuring that every conversation and every story is handled with the utmost respect and dignity. We Love To Give Theme Music Video
|
Our We Love To Give music video is more than just a song—it’s a reflection of our mission, our heart, and the communities we serve. The video captures real moments of love, service, and connection, while giving thanks and recognition to our supporters who make this work possible. It highlights our ongoing efforts to address food insecurity by showing us in action providing meals and support to those in need. With a positive, upbeat sound, the video is meant to uplift spirits, inspire hope, and spread encouragement, while also clearly sharing where individuals and families can go to receive help and resources. The lyrics were written by Omar Simmons and performed by the We Love To Give board members along with Marquis Simmons, and the video was shot and produced by Marquis Simmons. Through powerful visuals and music, the video celebrates the impact of giving and invites everyone to join a movement rooted in love, service, and community.

LOVE Park Servings
|
|
We Love To Give hosts our Love Park themed servings on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month (weather permitting). This is where and how We Love To Give began—before we became an official organization, we simply went out into the streets, showing up to feed people and love on our community. What started as a small act of compassion has grown into a consistent outreach where our volunteers provide meals, encouragement, and genuine human connection to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity and homelessness.
To keep each serving engaging and uplifting, we create fun, themed meal experiences, giving our guests a variety of food options that feel special, thoughtful, and made with love—not just another meal, but something to look forward to. Serving outdoors at Love Park allows us to meet people where they are, while always maintaining a focus on dignity, respect, and community. Though we have grown, the heart remains the same: We Encourage Loving Others Via Experience, Time, Opportunity, Guidance, Inspiration, Values & Encouragement (W.E.L.O.V.E.T.O.G.I.V.E.) |
Grocery Giveaways @ Beloved St John
|
Our Grocery Giveaways take place every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and are a consistent, year-round commitment to serving our community. At each giveaway, we provide a variety of items—including fresh produce, pantry staples, and other essential groceries—because we understand that food insecurity can impact anyone at any time. In fact, studies show that over 210,000 Philadelphians (about 13–17% of the population) struggle with food insecurity, and in some reports, that number rises even higher, with nearly 1 in 4 residents facing challenges accessing enough food . These numbers remind us that hunger does not discriminate—it can affect families, seniors, working individuals, and including a significant number of children. That’s why we remain committed to showing up consistently, offering support with dignity and compassion. It is truly a blessing to be able to give back in this way, and we are deeply grateful to Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church for providing the space and partnership that allows us to serve our community through these ongoing grocery giveaways.

Community Refrigerators
|
Community refrigerators have become an incredible lifeline throughout Philadelphia, providing free food 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anyone who needs it—no questions asked. Located in neighborhoods across the city, these community-run refrigerators help reduce food waste while ensuring that families, seniors, and individuals experiencing food insecurity have access to fresh produce, dairy products, prepared meals, and pantry staples. They are powered by neighbors helping neighbors and show what makes Philadelphia such a caring and compassionate city. At We Love To Give, we are proud to be part of this movement by regularly stocking the Germantown Community Fridges and the community refrigerator on Stenton Avenue, helping keep them filled with healthy food for our neighbors. Whether you're able to donate food, volunteer your time, or simply spread the word, supporting a community refrigerator is a simple way to make a real difference—one meal, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.
Here are some of the many community refrigerators and pantries throughout Philadelphia. They are all free to use—take what you need, leave what you can. Availability changes throughout the day because they are stocked by volunteers and community members. |
Philadelphia has 30+ community refrigerators and pantries located across neighborhoods including Germantown, Mt. Airy, East Falls, South Philadelphia, Fishtown, Kensington, North Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, Fairmount, and Center City. At We Love To Give, we are especially proud to help keep the Germantown Community Fridges and the Mt. Airy Community Fridge on Stenton Avenue stocked with fresh food and essentials, ensuring our neighbors have access to free food whenever they need it. We encourage everyone to support these incredible community resources by donating food, volunteering, or simply spreading the word—because together, we can make sure no one in Philadelphia has to go hungry |

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Giving back can help brighten your mood and provide an opportunity to meet your community. Giving back may be one of the most important principles in life. Those who are givers often receive the rewards of giving in many ways other than just financial gain. It’s been written that the poor will always be among us, but in recent times these disparities have grown by leaps and bounds. Most people give to charities because they believe in the cause or it’s something that has affected them deeply. Donations can be much more than just monetary. Volunteering your time to support a cause you are passionate about is something you will never regret. It will enrich your life, familiarize you with your community, and connect you to people and ideas that will positively impact your perspective for the rest of your life. Helping your community is an opportunity for you to grow as a person, to better understand how you fit into the world around you.
