Where to Get Help?
In Philadelphia, over 6,000 individuals are experiencing homelessness, with around 950 of them being unsheltered. Several factors contribute to homelessness, including:
1. Poverty
2. A shortage of affordable and stable housing
3. Mental illness
4. Substance use
To address this issue, Covenant House Pennsylvania, Bethesda Project, Philadelphia Police Department, Office of Homeless Services (OHS) and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disabilities (DBHIDS) All help with support for homelessness. They provide outreach, shelter, supportive housing, and behavioral health services to assist individuals facing homelessness and help them access necessary treatment and support.
